At Poptronic VR, we're passionate about using immersive technology to inspire real-world change, and there's no greater cause than protecting our planet. That’s why we're proud to announce our sponsorship of the Youth Climate Summit, where we're bringing the power of virtual reality to the forefront of environmental education and activism.

As part of our sponsorship, we are providing VR headsets and support to screen Out of Nowhere. This powerful, immersive climate experience is produced and directed by Kris Hofmann. The groundbreaking VR film takes participants on a visceral journey through the frontlines of climate disruption, allowing them to witness, feel, and understand the urgency of the climate crisis in a deeply personal way.
Why This Matters
Traditional methods of climate education can sometimes feel abstract or distant. Out of Nowhere changes that. Through 360-degree visuals and spatial sound design, the experience pulls viewers into the lived realities of communities affected by environmental change. It sparks empathy, builds awareness, and most importantly, encourages action.
We're honoured to help bring this story to the Youth Climate Summit, where the leaders of tomorrow are already mobilizing today. By experiencing Out of Nowhere in virtual reality, attendees will gain a more profound connection to the issues at hand. This connection empowers them to advocate for innovative and sustainable solutions in their own communities.

About the Film
Our weather is getting angrier. Everywhere.
By protecting nature we can protect ourselves.
Out of Nowhere is a 10 min standalone virtual reality experience, premiering at Venice Immersive in August 2025.
The interactive film gently explores how preserving alluvial forests, marshes and wetlands can help us face the challenges of an ever angrier, unpredictable climate.
Told through the eyes of Anna, a lifelong resident of Hallein in Austria, the experience flows from a personal memory of the devastating floods that hit Europe in 2021 to reveal how reconnecting with nature may be key to protecting ourselves going forward.
Every other month we hear about yet another devastating extreme weather event—in Nigeria, Pakistan, or Texas, and close to home, with severe floods in Austria and across Europe in 2021 and 2024. Each one of these events carries stories of personal loss, but also of inspiring resilience. If we can come together in the aftermath of a disaster, shouldn’t we be able to do so in preparation?
